The past few months have been a bit of a blur. I wrapped up my first year as a Squad Mentor in November as E-squad (4th Generation) finished their 11 month journey on the World Race. We debriefed together in Guatemala and they all made it home just in time for Thanksgiving! It was an incredible year watching their journey with the Lord and getting to be a part of that process with them. They fought hard, finished strong, and many of them are continuing on in ministry and back on the mission field already! I couldn’t be more proud! Congratulations E-squad! Well done!!

Now, I’ve already transitioned into my second year of mentoring and I have the opportunity to work with TWO squads this year! I am currently in Uganda helping train Fusion squad, a small group of about 20 people made up of many different internationals learning to bring Kingdom together by their bond in the Spirit. It’s been so fun getting to watch this squad love each other and learn about one another’s cultures and seek the Lord together through it all. I’ve been reminded of Revelation 7:9-10 over and over again,

“After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

What a beautiful picture that is. I can’t wait to see it and hear it one day in eternity. For now, however, while we are on earth we can only get glimpses of it. When those moments happen, I try to sit still and soak it in as much as possible. So grateful to have seen a glimpse of it this week while working with Fusion.

Later this week I will head down to South Africa for a debrief with R-squad after their first month on the field. There are 47 participants on R-squad and they are currently in Mozambique serving the Lord with passion and learning to love one another in the midst of hard conditions. It truly is a beautiful thing to watch. Dying to ourselves is painful and ugly, but when you are courageous enough to risk it all with a group of people for the sake of Christ, you will forever be changed.

I am so grateful to have the opportunity to serve in this way on the mission field. I not only get to go work alongside World Race squads from time to time, but I also get to walk this spiritual journey with them the whole 11 months as God transforms their hearts. This 11 month trip is full of life lessons, but the most important one is learning to become a true disciple of Christ and recognizing that this journey is actually for the rest of our lives. It is never ending. Until the day we meet Him face to face we will continue to be changed, from glory to glory. Praise God!

Thanks to all of my supporters and prayer partners for being a part of this with me! I couldn’t do it without each of you!! I will be on the field traveling in Africa for three more weeks! Please pray for Fusion squad and R-squad as they serve and for myself as I seek God’s wisdom, strength, and love to guide me.
